Stir it up little darlin’! These wooden spoons are an easy way to customize your kitchenware. We used the iconic lyrics by Bob Marley, but of course, you can use whatever lyrics you love. Or, if you're giving them as gifts, you can use meaningful words from a couple's wedding song, or that jam you and your girlfriend played on repeat during your cross country road trip (mine was "Yo I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want..." if you must know). So get to mixin', you little vixen!
- 2 wooden spoon
- masking tape
- acrylic paint
- wood burning pen
- Paint brush
Step 1: Clean the spoons and make sure they’re totally dry.
Step 2: Write out your lyrics in pencil, leaving room for paint at the top (see finished product for an idea of how much room you’d like to leave). When you’re satisfied with the placement, trace over the words slowly and carefully with the wood burning pen. I like to test it on a piece of scrap wood to get the feel of it, if at all possible!
Step 3: Wrap a piece of painters tape around the top of your spoon, keeping in mind that only the space above the tape will be painted (so it’s okay to cover your words with tape).
Step 4: Paint the top of the spoon above the tape and let dry.
Step 5: Remove the tape and there you have it! Waiting for a pot to boil has never been so entertaining.
