On this week's 3 Min DIY, Jeanine Amapola is showing us how to do just that by creating some amazing and EASY color block dipped utensils for your kitchen!

Materials
  • 3 Kitchen utensils
  • acrylic paint Choose at least three uniform colors you want to work with
  • paint brushes Use one per color that you're using
  • Hair dryer
  • blue painters tape

Are your kitchen utensils not keeping up with your bright DIY life? In three minutes, Jeanine Amapola can help you bring a new life to all of them with a flick of the wrist, and some paint! Let’s get to cooking something colorful.

Step 1: Start off by choosing the first color you want to work with. In this video, Jeanine chose to go with yellow and put it in a tin tray to avoid messiness.

Step 2: Get your blue painter’s tape and tape the section that you want to block off to paint on the first utensil. Make sure that it’s even so you can paint over an even line.

Step 3: Get to painting! Paint below the section of tape at the end of the utensil. Let it try for a minute, and go over and apply another coat to saturate the color a little more.

Step 4: Repeat Steps 1-3 for all the other utensils. Feel free to get creative and use double strips of painters tape to add multiple stripes of different colors on other utensils just to add more variety.

Step 5: Speed up the drying process by using a hair dryer to dry the paint on the utensils evenly.

Step 6: Once the paint on the utensils are dry, slowly remove the blue painter’s tape, and ta-da! You’re done!
