3 Min. Mason Jar Lantern w/ Jeanine Amapola

Asset 2

Looking to light up your room and you have a mason jar overload and don't know what to do with them? With this quick DIY, you're going to be able to solve both problems at once, and in less than three minutes!

For this 3 Minute DIY, this might be one of our easiest projects yet with only two steps to make a unique masterpiece for your home!

Step 1: Grabbing different sized mason jars from your home, start off by grabbing yarn or twine to start making a pattern around your jar. Tape the bottom and wrap the yarn/twine to the top, making sure there are empty spaces as your make your way up. These little areas will be openings for the light to peek through the mason jar. When you are at the top, tape it to the mason jar.

Step 2: Once you have it wrapped all the way, you can start painting the bottle with white acrylic paint to start making the pattern on the mason jar. Make sure you get into all the grooves to cover as much paint as you can.

Step 3: Let the paint dry on the mason jar, and if you’re impatient, feel free to try use a hair dryer to speed up the process.

Step 4: Once the paint has completely dried up, start removing the yarn/twine to reveal your masterpiece!

Step 5: Drop in a few tealights, and you’re good to go!

And that’s it! Easy peasy. If you like how this project turned out for you and you want to show us how you’ve styled it in your home, make sure to tag us on Instagram and use #BeMakeful!
