3 Minute DIY Graphic Tee w/ Jeanine Amapola

Asset 2

Thinking about paying $40 for that super cool graphic tee? Think again! Today on 3 Minute DIY, we're showing you how to design your own unique graphic t-shirt on the cheap by upcyling an old tee with some iron-on magic!

Make sure to do this project on a surface that is safe and protected for ironing- preferably an ironing board but a towel on a flat table will do just fine in a pinch!

Step 1: Choose your t-shirt and heat up your iron. Cut out your iron-on letters and arrange them on your shirt to spell whatever word you want. I’m going with “RAD” but you do you! Try to use the same measurements for each letter to aid in them being even.

Step 2: Place a towel or rag on top of the letters and put the heated iron over the rag. Leave it still for a few seconds to heat up the letters and get them a bit sticky, then slowly move the iron back and forth, pressing to attach the letters completely. Don’t move the iron around too much or it might mess up your letters! Leave the iron on for about 40-50 seconds.

Step 3: Gently peel off the backing of the iron on letters. Careful ‘cuz they can still be hot from the iron!

And there ya go! A totally rad graphic tee you can rock any day of the week. You can use anything to make yours- tank tops, old tees, crop tops, go crazy! And be sure to show me how yours came out on Instagram @bemakeful using #3mindiy. Peace out, Girl Scout!
