DIY Blush Pink Ombre Bed Sheets

Processed with VSCO with 8 preset

If there is one staple that I know ties my room all together, it's the sheets that I choose to put on my bed. I know that with the perfect bed sheet, not only does my room look better, but I can feel cozy in style. That's why when I got these plain white sheets, I knew that I could use these as a canvas to tailor it more for my room rather than just have a blank slate. With the magic of dye, I was able to turn these sheets into something a little more dreamy right for when I would be deep in my dreams.

STEP 1:  Wearing rubber gloves, mix 1 cup soda ash with 1 gallon of warm water into a bucket. Soak your clean white sheets in the mixture for about 15-20 minutes.

STEP 2: While your sheets are soaking, on a separate bucket, fill it with water and add a packet of dusty pink dye. You can choose to either liquid or powder dye. Mix well.

STEP 3: Remove your sheets from the soda ash water, and dump out the water. Replace the bucket with clean water.

STEP 4: Add half of your sheet to the dyed water and the rest to the clean water. By splitting the half and removing it slowly from the dyed water, this will create a perfect gradient for your ombré bed sheets.

STEP 5: After 7 minutes of your sheets in the dyed water, move a foot of the sheets into the clear water. Repeat the same process for the rest of the sheet until your entire sheet is in the clear water.

STEP 6: Remove the sheets from the water, squeeze out as much water as you can and hang to dry. Make sure that when you’re hanging your sheets, the white part of the sheets doesn’t touch the dyed part because the dye could transfer.

STEP 7: Once your sheets are dry, steam them to remove wrinkles, and you’re ready to use them!
