  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, (donuts)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, (donuts)
  • 2 tsp baking powder, (donuts)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, (donuts)
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg, (donuts)
  • 1/2 tsp salt, (donuts)
  • 1, lightly beaten large egg, (donuts)
  • 1 1/4 cup whole milk, (donuts)
  • 2 T, melted unsalted butter, (donuts)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract, (donuts)

First of all, check a reputable list of edible flowers to make sure you buy ones that are pesticide free and totally safe to eat. We used edible pansies, snap dragons, mini roses, and geranium flowers (pesticide free) that we bought in packs at our local grocery store. You can find them in the produce section, next to the fresh herbs. Delicious AND beautiful! What more could you ask for?"

To Make the Donuts:
1.
Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray 2 donut pans well. We don't want our yummy donuts sticking to the pan!

2. Sift together the dry ingredients including the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Then, in a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until mixed.

3.
Carefully spoon the mixture into the donut baking pans, filling each mold a little more than three-quarters full. Bake for 15-18 minutes, depending on your oven. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before dipping in your glaze of choice!
