Sweet and salty go together. They just do. Saltine crackers combined with sweet chocolate chips and crunchy heath bars in this recipe make for one heck of a party in your mouth.
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325°. Cover a cookie sheet with tin foil and place one full sleeve of crackers on the cookie sheet.
Step 2: Melt 1 cup salted butter and 1 cup brown sugar on med-high heat, stirring continuously so you don’t burn the pan.
Step 3: Pour the butter and sugar mixture over the crackers covering them completely. Stick it in the oven at 325° for about 10 minutes or until it starts to bubble a bit.
Step 4: Smash heath bars by placing them in a plastic bag and taking out your aggression with a hammer, a wooden spoon, or your bare hands if you’re feelin’ it.
Step 5: Take the cookie sheet out of the oven and, being careful not to burn yourself, spread the chocolate chips over the entire pan and smooth with a spatula until they melt completely.
Step 6: Sprinkle the crumbled heath bars evenly over the pan.
Step 7: Finally, top it all off with a pinch of salt.
Step 8: Put the whole she-bang in the freezer until hardened.
Step 9: Once frozen, turn upside down to release the brickle from the pan and remove foil.
Step 10: Go to town again with that hammer and break into bite-size chunks.
Helloooooo, Brickle. Say hello to my friend, Mouth.
