Give Your Gifts the Home They Deserve With Our DIY Faux Fur Tree Skirt

Asset 2

Keep your Christmas tree cozy this holiday season with this fluffy, no-sew faux fur tree skirt! It’s the perfect DIY base for all of your homemade presents.

Instructions:

Step one:

Lay out faux-fur fabric on a large surface.

Step two:

Fold fabric in half.

Step three:

Fold fabric in half once more.

Step four:

Measure 30in. from the corner in all directions. Mark several points along the curve in pencil.

Step five:

Carefully cut along the curve with an exacto knife. When using faux-fur fabric, it’s easier to cut on the backside of the fabric.

Step six:

Once you’ve cut through all four layers of folded fabric, don’t unfold yet! Take your circular object (I used a roll of duct tape) and trace a circle around the bottom corner of your fabric.

Step seven:

Carefully cut along the curve with an exacto knife.

Step eight:

Unfold the fabric and lay it out. The fabric should look like one large circle with one smaller circle in the center.

Step nine:

With an exacto knife, cut one straight line from the center of the circle to one of the edges to create an opening for you to place the skirt around your tree.

Step ten:

Put the skirt around your tree! You can lay it out flat, or lay it loosely to add more texture. All that’s left to do now is add your presents under the tree, and get ready for the big day!
