A lot has happened to Khloe Kardashian in the last week.
On April 12th, the reality star/fashion magnate/professional celebrity went into labour weeks before her due date. Then, as her contractions sent her to the hospital, a video started making the rounds of her boyfriend, the NBA’s Tristan Thompson, allegedly kissing a mysterious woman (though . The Kardashian clan quickly rallied around her as she simultaneously dealt with the news and gave birth to her first child, a girl she named True Thompson.
True to unspoken code of social media, Kardashian’s social media posts have remained upbeat and shown her situation through a rose-coloured filter. Literally, a pink-soaked nursery graced her Instagram feed a few days, announcing her daughter’s birth and presenting a united front with Thompson. “Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family!” the caption reads.
However, sources say that the new parents are in fact at an impasse and not speaking. TMZ (in typical melodramatic fashion) posted in a blaring headline that the couple’s relationship was “still severely fractured” and said the two were “hanging by a thread.” Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner have reportedly all flown out to Cleveland to rally around Khloe, as she (again, according to TMZ) has gone through an “emotional breakdown.”
Of course, speculation has run wild. People Magazine reported Kardashian had forgiven Thompson, overwhelmed as she was with post-birth goodwill. Meanwhile, Kim and Kanye were said to be “furious.” Khloe herself was described by different publications as “devastated” and “in a bubble of love and peace.” At this point, her emotions are a veritable Schrodinger’s cat.
Thompson himself is headed to Indianapolis for the NBA playoffs, though he has reportedly been benched — though whether for his playing or the attention his personal scandal, it’s not clear.
Khloe is still staying at Thompson’s home in Cleveland, but it’s been said that once she is cleared to fly, she’ll be making a swift exit to her family digs in LA, where she’ll take solace in the close-knit bonds of her kin. It’s no secret that the Kardashians put family before all else — it is their career, their fortune, and their social circle.
Whatever happens with Khloe and Thompson, it will surely be a mere footnote in the story of the Kardashian empire.
