Brody Jenner of The Hills fame got married to fashion blogger and entrepreneur Kaitlynn Carter over the weekend in an intimate event off the coast of Bali. Judging by the social media posts, everything looked picture-perfect—except the fact that not one member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan showed up to the celebration.
Even Brody’s father, Caitlyn Jenner, missed the wedding, and his half-sisters, Kendall, Kylie, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney were no-shows, too.
So, what gives? Has Brody been ex-communicated from the clan, or was everyone just really busy?
As for Caitlyn, E! News reports that she was in Austria attending the LIFE+ Solidarity Gala on Friday in advance of Saturday’s Life Ball. The ball is dedicated to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, and it’s reportedly the biggest charity event in Europe devoted to the cause.
Seeing as the wedding was Saturday, this gives Caitlyn a reasonable justification for missing out, but what about Brody’s sisters?
According to PEOPLE, Kendall and Kylie didn’t RSVP at all to the invitation.
“My two little sisters, we never even heard from them. They never even RSVP’d I don’t think. We sent them an invite but we just never heard anything back. Well, they’ll be missed. I would have loved to have had them there,” Brody told PEOPLE.
It seems as though the Kardashian-Jenner women had plans of their own for the weekend.
According to E! News, Kim visited Wyoming with husband Kanye West, Kendall went out to eat with NBA player Ben Simmons, and Kylie celebrated a friend’s birthday. Plus, Elite Daily reports that the whole clan got together on Sunday to celebrate North West and Penelope Disick’s joint birthday party.
So many activities, so little time for Brody’s wedding.
Despite his missing family members, the reality star seemed to have a blast at his nuptials, which took place on the Indonesian island of Nihi Sumba, east of Bali. According to Page Six, the wedding included a jungle party, a traditional horse race, and a $6,000-a-night honeymoon suite for the newlyweds.
Plus, PEOPLE reports that Brody’s mother, Linda Thompson, and his brother (and best man), Brandon Jenner, were in attendance at the wedding, so he wasn’t totally abandoned.
Brody popped the question back in 2016 when he and Kaitlynn had been dating for two years. Now that they’ve tied the knot in paradise, the happy newlyweds are already onto the next adventure.
