Last Saturday, history was made as Meghan Markle walked down the aisle—solo—towards the love of her life, Prince Harry. The world watched the whole thing go down on TV and live streams, but what about the lucky individuals who witnessed the event firsthand?
St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was filled with world-famous stars and royals—Prince William and Duchess Kate, George and Amal Clooney, and of course, Markle’s fellow castmates from her previous life on the show Suits. Fans of the show were delighted to see the entire cast reunited for Rachel Zane’s real life big day, and although the drama is set for an eighth season without Markle and Patrick J. Adams, the wedding served as the perfect send-off for her beloved quick-witted character.
In case you missed the smattering of Suits stars in the crowd at the royal wedding, here’s a roundup of the actors who were there to watch Markle make history:
Abigail Spencer, who has a recurring role as Dana Scott on Suits, showed up to the wedding with another of Markle’s famous friends, actress, singer and philanthropist, Priyanka Chopra. Markle has known Spencer for a decade, long before Suits was one of the most popular shows on TV. The pair met at an audition, and Spencer, who now stars on the show Timeless, has only wonderful things to say about her friend, calling her “phenomenal,” “elegant” and “gracious.”
Patrick J. Adams, who plays the main character in the show, Mike Ross, of course attended the royal wedding with his new wife, Troian Bellisario of Pretty Little Liars. Bellisario’s Instagram snap of the day, showcasing her chic neutral look and Adams’ happy grin, got a whopping 1.9 million likes. Adams posted a couple of snaps, too, captioning his selfie: “freeloaders.” Sadly, Adams has also announced the end of his long run on the show, a decision he made after realizing that his character’s story arc had reached completion.
Gabriel Macht, who plays Harvey Specter on Suits, and his IRL wife, Jacinda Barrett, who plays Zoe Lawford on the show, were both in attendance at the royal wedding. Macht posted an adorable selfie of himself and Barrett, writing a sweet caption about the wedding:
“Congrats to Meghan and Prince Harry on your nuptials. Enjoyed meeting many of your family and friends and an incredible honor to be a part of the whole celebration. May your journey together be full of love and children.”
It wouldn’t be a Suits reunion without the show’s much-loved feisty redhead, Donna Paulsen, played by Sarah Rafferty. The gorgeous actress donned a romantic and elegant deep blue number with blooming sleeves and a quintessentially British Philip Treacy fascinator. Rafferty fit right in at Windsor Castle, and she even managed to snap a stunning shot of Markle’s walk down the aisle.
Although Rick Hoffman’s Suits character, Louis Litt, isn’t always the most likeable personality on the show, he seems to be totally sweet IRL. Hoffman posted a candid snap of him and Adams at the wedding, writing a caption full of only the kindest words about his co-stars:
“As much as @halfadams is missed on set this year, this trip only reconfirmed we will always be family and I am so proud and excited for his future. It was a dream to share this once in a lifetime experience with him, and the whole @suits_usa gang to celebrate Meghan and Harry’s wedding. Will never forget this other worldly experience.”
The Suits stars stuck together like glue throughout the whirlwind trip, dining together for the “last supper” before Markle’s big day and taking a bus ride (like, the most glamorous and star-studded bus ride ever) through Windsor Town to the castle.
Although Adams and Markle—two of the show’s most prominent characters—will no longer be on Suits, the rest of the cast seems more than capable of carrying on for the next season sans Rachel and Mike. Now it’s time for Markle to write the next chapter of her life story, titled “Happily Ever After.”
