The stars hit the red carpet Sunday for the 18th annual BET Awards at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater. Artists like Ashanti and Storm Reid graced the red carpet in statement-making looks, while celebs like Blac Chyna dazzled in show-stopping ensembles.
Later on in the evening, rapper Nicki Minaj took to the stage to perform her single “Chun Li” in a sexy red dress and boots. Rappers 2 Chainz and Big Sean also made appearances on stage, performing “Big Bank” alongside Minaj.
The awards celebrate achievements across categories like music, sports, television and movies, so there was no shortage of big names in attendance at the event. DJ Khaled was nominated for six awards including Album of the Year, while rapper Kendrick Lamar received five nominations. Screen stars like Lupita Nyong’o and Tiffany Haddish were up for Best Actress, while Denzel Washington and Michael B. Jordan were among the male nominees for Best Actor.

Model, entrepreneur, and the mother of Rob Kardashian’s child, Dream Renée Kardashian, Blac Chyna channeled a glamorous mermaid with a metallic mesh ensemble. The newly single celeb showcased her legs and midriff in the Laurel DeWitt dress, making a major statement on the red carpet.
Legendary supermodel and entrepreneur Tyra Banks dazzled on the red carpet in a sparkly blush jumpsuit. But with smizing like that, who cares what she wore?
Actress, comedian, singer and model Erica Ash looked majestic in a patterned gown by Indian label Khosla Jani.

Actress Storm Reid of A Wrinkle in Time looked stellar in a stylish Reem Acra ensemble. The blue and purple look was complete with moon, star and planet embellishments as a nod to the young celeb’s role in the sci-fi/fantasy film.
Model and actress Amber Rose wowed on the red carpet in a form-fitting emerald green gown. With her voluptuous blonde locks and amazing curves on full display, Rose looked like a modern-day Jessica Rabbit.
In honour of Pride Month, singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe wore a totally epic rainbow gown to the BET Awards. With a green sequins bodice and a floor-length rainbow skirt, the gown was one of the most unforgettable looks of the night, but Monáe took it up a few notches further with an adorable black hat and a gorgeous sequins clutch.
Actress, model and singer, Serayah McNeill, shimmered at the Awards in a gold metallic set complete with a luxurious skirt of wavy gold ruffles and a form-fitting crop top. “Shinin,” the Empire star captioned her Instagram snap from the evening.
Rapper Reminisce Mackie, also known as Remy Ma, looked elegant in a custom polka dot gown by designer Karen Sabag. The artist added a pop of colour with the perfect accessory, a pair of sultry red pumps.
Who said male celebs can’t dazzle on the red carpet, too? Singer-songwriter, actor and dancer Trevor Jackson showed off his true colours in a rainbow sequins suit by L.A.-based designer Libertine.
