Now, Kim Kardashian fans can keep a replica of her nude body on their makeup tables. The beauty mogul, who is apparently over clothes, recently announced the launch of her next perfume, KKW Body, with yet another (and another, and another) in-the-flesh Instagram picture.
With notes of Vert de Bergamot and Peach Nectar, the fragrance will be housed in a bottle modelled after Kim’s naked figure. The project is in collaboration with contemporary performance artist Vanessa Beecroft, who has worked with Kanye West in the past, and seems to specialize in nude humans.
Kim posted more Instagrams of her body covered in clay, simply captioned, “work in progress” and “we took a mold of my body and made it a perfume bottle.”
Kim posted more scanty photos on the KKW Fragrance page to promote KKW Body, garnering hundreds of thousands of likes and controversial comments in just a few days.
KKW Body comes after Crystal Gardenia, Kim’s massively successful fragrance, which made over $14 million in one day. Crystal Gardenia is described as “voluptuous, lush, and feminine” on the KKW Fragrance website, and the perfume’s bottle is a sleek, ethereal crystal—not nearly as exciting as Kim’s nude form, but pretty nonetheless.
In an interview with Business of Fashion, Kim describes her new fragrance as “really cool,” and compares the scent to gold.
“It’s really cool. The scent is so good, I’m so proud of it. It smells to me like what I would think golden smells like, even though that’s a colour and something that’s just luminous.”
Kim launched KKW Beauty in June 2017, and with about 350,000 units sold per launch, the company could rake in a cool $100 million in its first year of existence.
Kim and the rest of the Kardashian brood are dominating the beauty industry: Kylie and Kourtney just launched a collaboration, which is almost entirely sold out, and Kourtney recently headed to Washington D.C. to fight for tighter health and safety regulations for the cosmetics industry.
KKW Body is set for release on April 30, and if Kim’s last fragrance is any indication, it won’t take long to sell out completely.
