There’s a simple reason why so many brides end up dancing bare feet at their own reception: their shoes have become unbearably painful. Many had chosen a beautiful, photogenic pair of high heels with little in the way of padding or arch support, and—having never really walked in them before the big day—had no idea of the torture devices the shoes would become after hours of being on their feet.
To avoid such discomfort, look for styles with lower heel heights, straps to help you stay in the shoe, wider heels that offer more stability and support, and generous built-in padding or insoles. Then, make sure that you’ve purchased them in the perfect size and width, and wear them in a tiny bit before the wedding, especially if the upper is made of leather.
